OVERVIEW
Project Donor connects people with resources and social support so that they can become eligible for organ donation through lifestyle changes.
When you join our support program, you get free access to select weight-loss services, online therapy, and FDA-approved smoking cessation products. You will also be assigned a Project Donor team member, who will check-in with you via phone or email every few weeks in order to provide encouragement, ask about progress toward your goals, and troubleshoot access to any resources.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect different types of personal data through Project Donor. Participants may provide personal data in different ways, from registration to communication.
Forms: Information you provide to us when inquiring about our resources or onboarding to our program, including your name, contact, address, age, race, gender, transplant center, recipient, height, weight, and donation status.
Communications: Information you provide to us over the phone or via text or email, consisting of progress toward your donation goals, changes to your program status, and other personal information related to your goals, updates, and challenges (“case notes”).
USE OF INFORMATION
We do not sell any information collected with third parties.
We may use information collected for a range of reasons, including:
Case Management: Our case managers use your information to keep track of your progress and needs. It also helps them remember details about your case that help them support you better.
Program Improvement: We may analyze program-wide data to improve our service or resource offerings and to assess the effectiveness of our program.
Continuity of Experience: We share updates about your case with your assignedWe share updates about your case with your assigned staff at transplant centers and resources in order to provide a seamless experience from our program to our partners.
If you have been referred to Project Donor by a transplant center, we will share information with that transplant center related to your program status, resource usage, and progress towards transplant eligibility
If you wish for data shared with your transplant center to be anonymized (name and address removed), please inform us at info@projectdonor.org
To support any claim, defense or declaration in a case or before any jurisdictional and/or administrative authority, arbitration, or mediation panel.
Or in connection with disciplinary actions/investigations.
Our Security
We store data on a two-factor authenticated, password-protected platform accessible only to team members at Project Donor. The platform keeps the data encrypted in transit and at rest and regularly monitors the security of its cloud servers. We ensure our staff understand the importance of protecting personal data.
