Program Eligibility
Project Donor is a program for people who are actively pursuing kidney or liver donation but who cannot proceed with the process for reasons that can be addressed through lifestyle change.
We unfortunately cannot offer our program to people who:
Are not actively pursuing kidney or liver donation
Have been ruled ineligible for organ donation such that making lifestyle changes will not change their eligibility later on (e.g. medical conditions)
If you need to lose over 50 lbs or have been diagnosed with a medical condition that may preclude you from donation (e.g. diabetes, auto-immune, chronic illness, etc), we will need to confirm with your transplant team that you have a safe path forward.
Program Expectations
By joining our program, you will have free access to top-of-the-line resources like Noom, WW, Betterhelp Talk Therapy, and more. We also provide post-donation support for program participants. Please read Project Donor’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Your participation is voluntary. Please let your case manager know if you wish to exit the program at any time for any reason.
To help you find a resource that is a good fit, we pair you with a case manager who checks in with you from time to time via call, text, or email. It is important that you respond, even if only a few words, so that we know you’re still engaged with the program. If you do not respond to your case manager after two months of attempted contact, we will assume that you no longer wish to continue with the program.
Once a month, we will email you a short check-in form to hear how things are going and to track progress toward your goals. This form helps our case managers continue to tailor support to your needs, and it is important that you fill it out. If you do not respond to the check-in form, we will not be able to renew your resources.
Program Expectations
Your case manager will connect you with resources. If the weight loss service or nicotine replacement therapy product you selected is not working for you, you may switch your resource according to our Switching Policy below. See a full description of each resource here.
Our program is available to people at each stage of the process. However, the resources we are able to provide differs depending on your stage in the donation process.
For anyone who is eligible for our program, we are able to provide:
A dedicated case manager for as long as desired
Access to the Project Donor community for as long as desired

Switching Policy
It’s possible that you could pick a resource that isn’t a good fit. In that case, we are able to switch your resource, but we ask that you let us know as soon as possible. We are not able to switch your resource if you have already used over half of your current allotted resource (e.g. 6 months of Noom if you are eligible for 1 year).
